Open Mic FAQ

How much time do performers get?

Each comedian that performs will receive 4 – 6 minutes, depending on the number of comedians on the list that night. You will receive a first light when you have one minute left and a second light when your time is up.

Are there any language/content restrictions?

Performers are allowed to say whatever they want, as long as it is intended to be a joke.

Are there any age restrictions?

The Comedy Shrine does our best to accommodate performers of all ages. However, parents should know that we do not  restrict language or content, and so we advise using discretion in deciding whether or not your child can attend. Please Contact Us if you have a child younger than 16 interested in performing at our open mic.

When should I show up?

We ask that all comedians performing at the Open Mic arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show time. About ten minutes before the start of the Open Mic, we host a meeting for all of the performers, where we go over the rules and order.
