Open Improv FAQ

How much time do performers get?

Long from teams will get 7 – 10 minutes depending on the number of signups.  Short form games will be a rotation of players.

Are there any language/content restrictions?

Performers are allowed to say whatever they want, as long as it is intended to be a joke.

Are there any age restrictions?

The Comedy Shrine does our best to accommodate performers of all ages. However, parents should know that we do not  restrict language or content, and so we advise using discretion in deciding whether or not your child can attend. Please Contact Us if you have a child younger than 16 interested in performing at our open improv.

When should I show up?

We ask that all comedians performing at the Open Mic arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show time. About ten minutes before the start of the Open Improv, we host a meeting for all of the performers, where we go over the rules and order.
